The Submerged Silence

In response to the growing interest in Taoist teachings, a Floating Island Temple and Diving Centre is conceived as a strange mirrored counter-body to the sacred site of the Jing Le Palace in the Chinese Wudang Mountain valley. Left entirely submerged and ruined after the Communist Party successfully completed the building of a huge dam in 1967, the palace once embodied the symbolic birth of the diety Xuanwu.

Reaching it by boat and by passing through a series of charged thresholds, you physically complete the destroyed Xuanwu narrative before quietly and alone, you swim down to the strange ruin below.
